Interview, screen andrecruit patients for clinical trials.

Explain study proceduresand educate patients/family/staff regarding research studies.

Interview and obtaininformed consent from patients/legally authorized representative forresearch protocols.

Obtain history.

Access patients’medical/lab/radiology records.

Access data (e.g.,demographic information and laboratory results, etc.) from computers andunits.

Access to copy machineto copy source documents.

Access to clinics andmedical floors/units/ED/OR to screen patients or follow up on studyrelated requirements.

Assist within-service of personnel involved in study patients’ care regardingstudies, research protocols and results of trials.

Centrifuge and preparesamples for processing and/or shipping.

Administer study orquestionnaire/outcome assessment tool.

Document studyenrollment in progress notes (electronic or paper).

Organize follow-uprelated to studies

Obtain, verify, inputdata for database needs

Attend research planningmeetings

Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to research protocol.

May maintain clean equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.

Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for research department.

May order supplies as directed by senior research staff.

As needed, may coordinate the work of technicians and assistants to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results.

Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.

Performs other duties as assigned.
