Service Engineer

The Microsoft 365 FastTrack team is looking for an analytical, direct, and concise Security Service Engineer to drive the FastTrack (FT) operational security architecture, management, development, and process. This role focuses across all of FT. This key role will drive impact by:

delivering security rigor and practices

successfully collaborate with the multiple teams within FastTrack.

delivering operational execution of security monitoring and security risk prevention.

This role requires a self-driven person to establish, manage, and be accountable for further developing the security practices and toolsets in development and process areas for the at scale work FastTrack conducts.As the FT Security Service Engineer you will be accountable for driving the risk assessment of multiple operational environments including Office 365 and Azure, perform technical reviews of systems, analyze security issues, and identify long term solutions to balance risk and the business requirements. You will also help establish process and practices for vulnerability testing to make sure the constantly changing environments of FT remain secure. Microsoft 365 FastTrack provides onboarding and data migration benefits to prospective customers of the Office 365 workloads plus Windows product and services. Responsibilities

Delivery of Red Team exercises

Utilizing best practices in developing secure coding procedures

Reduction in human actionswithin the security team

Triage, investigate and advise about threat related tool alerts and Security Advisories issued by Microsoft and 3rd Party Companies

Stay relevant with emerging exploits and security principles.

Partner with engineering, program management and operations personnel within the FT organization to suggest and implement security improvements to processes and technologies.

Although this is not an incident response position, we are delivering the FT benefit around the clock, therefore from time to time, you may be required to participate in emergency or after-hours activities.

Qualifications

BS or MS in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience

6+ years of experience in operational security

Proven success as a security architect in a large scale, online service

Strong knowledge of SDLC and ensuring the dev and PM team adheres to standards and best practices, code reviews, etc.

Experience with securing Azure or cloud-based infrastructure

Proactive approach to monitoring and auditing for security breach/weakness.

Leverage attack tools and hacking techniques to identify flaws and vulnerabilities in code and infrastructure

Deep technical knowledge of AuthN/AuthZ standards, cryptography, security vulnerabilities and remediation.

Solid communication and collaboration with all areas of the team (PM, Dev, Test, Security, Ops).

Strong spec writing and design skills and ability to lead/mentor other developers in this area

Ability to deal with ambiguity

Actively participate in code reviews and provide software/architectural guidance and engineering designs to mitigate security risks.

Ability to understand business impact and prioritize tasks, track work items and issue resolution.

Willingness to keep current with various methodologies and adapt as business demands change.

Solid verbal and written communication skills

Proven success in delivering through developing others.
