Catering Sales Manager

The Hotel Ithaca located in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country is seeking an experienced and passionate Catering/Hotel Sales Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate would have previous hotel sales and catering experience, and have a drive for success. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of exceeding client expectations and will display strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills. The ability to develop relationships with clients is essential. Candidates will feel confident in entertaining individuals and large groups and be capable of producing dynamic sales presentations and memorable site visits. Candidates should demonstrate a history of exceeding sales goals and a passion for catering sales. Identifying clients’ needs and presenting solutions to meet those needs will be essential for success. The ideal candidate will be an expert at overcoming objections and closing. Candidates will need to be creative in finding new business. You will be a part of a highly ranked service culture which always puts the client first and you will show a good understanding of how the business you book impacts the operational departments of the hotel.

Responsible for both proactive and reactive sales handling the social and corporate market. Generating proposals, contracts and banquet event orders. Conducting site inspections, outside sales calls, community networking and entertaining clients. Communicating all necessary details to operating departments in a timely manner.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in catering sales; Self-motivated with confidence in selling to the social market; Team player with hands on approach; Strong computer skills; High energy level with positive attitude; Good knowledge of food and wine; Good sales skills and interpersonal relationship skills;

Excellent communication skills
