Serves as assistant office head to professionals providing professional support in one or more areas listed.Directs subordinate managers and staff. This manager has a broad scope or a high level of responsibility within an agency or organization. Advises on expenditures of state funds. Determines if a flight can be made. Develops and implements flight safety, standardization, and maintenance policies. Directs flight and maintenance operations in accordance with the standards set forth by Federal Aviation Regulations. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges air transportation employees. Maintains appropriate reports and logs, and complies with all applicable rules and regulations. Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for air transportation employees. Trains pilots in the safest methods of operating aircraft in dangerous flight conditions.
