As the Group Leader within the I&T Organization you will collaborate with the Division and Deputy Division Leaders to lead and advance an IT group for one of the most important research institutions in the world.Group Leaders (GL) are key members and contributors in the leadership team responsible for supporting the strategic direction for the group, providing oversight on IT initiatives, working with, and supporting the division leadership, developing and maintaining good customer and cross-organizational relations, promoting a strong safety, security and ethics culture, and assisting the Division Office on other duties as assigned.Responsibili ti es include:Key contributor in the development and execution of vision, strategic plans, and goals for the group

What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Information Technology StrategyExtensive knowledge and demonstrated experience collaborating with IT leadership and business customers to effectively deliver business and operations solutions for a diverse organization. This includes experience determining organizational objectives and interpreting company policies, establishing operational objectives and work plans, and empowering subordinates to execute.LeadershipDemonstrated experience managing cross functional IT teams consisting of high-level computing professionals and technical professionals. Demonstrated experience managing deployed, teleworking, or remote personnel. Demonstrated experience leading change in an organization through strategic planning and tactical operations management.Strategic CollaborationExperience interacting with peer IT and functional customer organizations, fostering effective working relationships, and communicating complex information to a wide variety of stakeholders, including the ability to evolve your thinking, influence and motivate others, and/or gain acceptance in sensitive situations while fostering strong relationships.Business Management and DevelopmentDemonstrated operational business management and development skills, ability to develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance standards, staffing, hiring, and forecasting; mentoring, staff development, succession planning, personnel, and salary management, and ensuring a safe and secure workplacefor an organizational unit. Understand mission and operations to best serve the institution with the technology needed to support Laboratory mission and operations. Enable collaboration with customers, stakeholders and I&T peer organizations to achieve alignment between institutional priorities, policies, and allocation of resources.Education and Years of Relevant ExperiencePosition requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution and 8 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:Additional Experience DesiredPrevious experience managing an IT organization with classifiedand unclassified field services teams and their respective responsibilities.Management and oversight of major efforts such as I&T Service implementation, IT service desk management, vulnerability remediation, client computing deployment, knowledge management, enterprise classified computing, classified disaster recovery and storage solutions, development of classified and unclassified Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).Experience in classified computing strategic planning, classified IT infrastructure design, knowledge in secure LAN (SLAN) development and working with Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) in support SLANs.Experience leading information management initiatives and efforts, such as data migration, information system upgrades, modernization of enterprise document and recordkeeping functionality, and protection of records against technological obsolescence.Comprehensive knowledge of and experience implementing Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to Document Control and Records Management, including contractual requirements, consensus standards and related data systems pertaining to DCRM.Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with varied disciplines, including engineering operations, construction, and research and development .Federal/DOEPrevious experience managing an IT or DCRM organization in the Federal sector and/or DOE/NNSA nuclear complex and/or knowledge of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) structural organization, business functions, history, and culture.ClearanceActive DOE “Q” or other Top Secret clearance.Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NMwith the potential for teleworking from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required.
