Position OverviewThe Navistar San Antonio Manufacturing Plant is a benchmark facility that builds leading-edge commercial veh icles to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. By using proven engineering and leading technology and manufacturing principles, Navistar takes mobility and transport to a new level of impact. This facility   ha s the   flexibility to build   Class 6-8 trucks along with Electric Vehicles that allow Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth. Using the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected manufacturing principles, Navistar's newest manufacturing facility will continue growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality. Navistar San Antonio Assembly Plant is currently seeking Supervisors to join our Manufacturing Team. The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all employees are provided with a safe work environment and that all employees are working safely. Primary duties include: Supervising a represented workforce in a manufacturing facility

Interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives within the department

Responsible for the daily supervision of hourly employees, including, but not limited to effective management of attendance, discipline, training, and work performance

ResponsibilitiesDirects the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and may control capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree

At least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience

ORMaster’s degree

At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience

ORAt least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience

Additional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired SkillsExperience in automotive or truck manufacturing

Demonstrated understanding in the compliance of Company Safety and Environmental policies

Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Demonstrated leadership and self-motivation skills

Knowledge of the truck assembly process and lean manufacturing principles

Ability to use logic and methods to analyze problems and make effective decisions

Demonstrated knowledge of material processes and supplier interfaces
