You’ll get to:Sponsor EHS initiatives and champion continuous improvement of EHS programs, procedures and tools to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Lead and cultivate an exceptional EHS culture within the division to achieve world class safety performance and to meet increasingly stringent corporate performance objectives.

Develop and coordinate various internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory standards such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.

Serve as a resource/consultant to staff regarding the development of new capital projects to ensure that all EHS issues are identified and addressed and to ensure successful Management of Change.

Develop, facilitate and/or manage effective EHS training programs for all employees, supervisors and managers.

Assist line and staff management in the interpretation and understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations, including guidance on handling compliance, inspections, and citations.

Serve as lead interface with OSHA, EPA, or any other local, state or federal agency.

Develop and facilitate employee-led programs towards the development of an interdependent safety culture, including job safety analysis, employee safety observations, near miss reporting, ergonomic evaluations, etc.

Manage and/or coordinate industrial hygiene surveys or studies to identify and control a wide variety of physical and chemical stressors.

Develop and maintain effective emergency plans to prepare for non-routine incidents and any natural/man-made disaster that may occur.

Serve as the site’s liaison with designated global property insurance carrier to provide closure to open recommendations and to help ensure conformance with their requirements.

Serve as an active member of the site’s Workers Compensation program working closely with the Human Resources Department.

Develop and maintains an effective Contractor Safety/Qualification Program.

Work with trade and professional organizations to promote goals and objectives in the health and safety area that affect company's business.

Manage the WWTP operation and State mandated data recording

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in heavy manufacturing with demonstrated ability to implement EHS programs

Detailed, working knowledge of OSHA and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations

Practical experience managing EHS programs in conformance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
