DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for assisting other craft workers in the assembly, mechanical completion, repair, maintenance and QC of Wind Turbines. In addition, SKL-Ts may be assigned other tasks as needed during construction of wind projects including any foundation, offload or erection activities.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures

Complete all required Safety documentation

Climb wind turbines daily and perform activities required to assemble and mechanically complete wind turbines

Uses taglines to control suspended loads during assembly of wind turbine components

Bolts, nails, aligns, screws, torques, tensions parts associated with wind turbine construction

Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull

Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand tool

Mix concrete or grout using portable mixer

Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed

Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts inside a wind turbine

Mop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection

Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces

Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices

Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machines

Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torqueing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc.

May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice

Maintain a professional appearance

Other Duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

One to three years of experience in construction and/or equivalent combination of training a and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volume

Ability to understand units of force, pressure and torque and apply appropriate tooling adjustments for each

Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
