ResponsibilitiesGuidehouse is looking for a Communications Lead to work on a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) project with the Center for Medicare (CM) related to Hospital Price Transparency. Communications Lead responsibilities include working closely with the project manager, project delivery teams, the client and stakeholders to create and disseminate clear communications in plain language to enable program requirements to be easily understood. This role will provide effective written and verbal education and outreach, technical assistance, training, and compliance communications to hospitals and third parties regarding topics related to the Hospital Price Transparency Rule, compliance violations, machine readable files, and shoppable services. To succeed at this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills as you will collaborate with the team and stakeholders to deliver quality work on time and on budget. Ideal candidates will have experience working at CMS and/or CM. You will be responsible for designing the strategic communications plan, messaging/content development, stakeholder engagement/facilitation, and contributing to team building. This position is contingent. Job Description/Responsibilities: Support the design of a strategic communications plan, implement communications tactics against the plan, both internally within CMS and externally with stakeholder organizations and government oversight organizations.

Messaging/Content Development: Ability to create targeted messages to a specific audience using plain language through intentional communication channels and artifacts. Ability to design presentations, and to translate technical concepts into visuals/ stakeholder messaging.

Stakeholder Engagement/Stakeholder Management: Willingness to build plans and processes to identify and create relationships and engage all people who influence and/or are affected by specific organizational changes.

Facilitation: Capable of planning and executing sessions that help a group of people understand their common objectives and assisting them to achieve these objectives.

Team Building: Contribute to enhancing social relations, connector, organization development, often involving collaborative tasks.

QualificationsRequired: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience

Preferred:

Experience working at or with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).

Experience working at or with the Center for Medicare (CM)

Experience with Microsoft Products and SharePoint

Experience with stakeholder engagement and creating and providing trainings and technical assistance

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and organizational skills

Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and an ability to set and meet deadlines

Creativity and innovation in problem solving

Utilize data visualization and design thinking skills

Work with little supervision and to support your team, including executive levels

Manage communication, coordination and track the progress and performance of tasks according to the project schedule

Maintain an organized repository of project information and data on the project and customer SharePoint sites

Ensure assigned workstreams remains compliant with all policy, processes, and guidelines

Maintain communication with internal and external teams and stakeholders

Develop working instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
