JOB TITLE: Director of Nursing
DEPARTMENT: Long Term Care Center
REPORTS TO: Administrator of LTCC
To lead and manage LTC clinical and administrative operations and department human resources, financial resources and LTC mission and goals. To supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of the Long Term care Unit in the performance of consistently high-quality patient care.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the aging process, possess the ability to assess the patient's age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the LTCC's policies and procedures.
Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional nurse. Prefer Bachelor of Science in nursing with additional education in geriatrics/gerontology.
Minimum of two years supervision or management experience and at least five years clinical experience. Previous experience in administration, rehabilitation nursing, psychiatric or geriatric nursing required.
Interest and understanding of the special needs of the older adult. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Excellent clinical and teaching skills required.
