Responsible for evaluating the risk and eligibility of groups and members in accordance with corporate underwriting guidelines and federal and state statutes. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

Calculates renewal rates for large group cases based on thorough analysis of experience, location, demographics, etc.

Coordinates with other departments to ensure accuracy & consistency of overall account reporting.

Proposes rates for prospective business utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data & manual rates.

Performs post-sale reviews.

Prepares rate projections, or benefit change increments & decrements.

Assists in establishing rating & administrative procedures.

Participates in project teams as underwriting representative.

Participates in updates & monitoring departmental processes & procedures in compliance with system, regulatory & business requirements.

Qualifications Requirements:

Bachelor's

degree in related field or a combination of education and experience

required.

Minimum

of 2 years (GU I) or 3 years (GU II) of experience in

Underwriting or equivalent required.

CPCU,

CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.

Strong

written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong logic,

analytic and problem solving skills required.

Ability

to work independently required.

Excellent

decision making skills required.

Strong knowledge

of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
