The primary purpose of this position is to create travel authorizations, conduct audit and complete payment of travel vouchers; prepare, examine, compute, process, and/or maintain authorizations and vouchers and related accounting data; and ensure allow ability of charges including payment of travel and supplemental benefits performed by military and civilian personnel.ResponsibilitiesPerforms final prepayment audit of all travel documents.Examines, computes, and processes vouchers, and creates individual and group authorizations, processes, compiles, and maintains accounting data.Provides customer service in person and by alternate communication mediums.Maintains travel files/records and produces reports or summarizes information related to vouchers and supporting documents.Researches, interprets, and applies regulations, requirements, and procedures.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes knowledge knowledge of a body of standardized rules, instructions, and regulations to determine allow ability of charges,entitlements, and correct procedural courses of action and and accounting terminology, account structure, forms, methods, techniques, and procedures to ensure proper documentation and fund coding of expenses when an understanding of the relationship between items and forms of ledgers is required or for comparable matters.OREDUCATION: have completed one full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT ORCOMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of complex procedures and rules concerning payment of government claims (e.g., travel, HHG, etc.); comprehensive financial and accounting processes, procedures, and controls; and accounting terminology, accounting structures, and the interrelationships of accounts and the effects of transactions on the overall system of ledgers.

Skill in performing arithmetic computations.

Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and procedures related to voucher examining.

Ability to gather, analyze, and present facts.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to operate a calculator. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
