Research Associate - BSL-2, San Diego, CAPosition Type: Contract (expected 4-5 months)As a Research Associate you will assist with the development of small molecule therapeutics and diagnostics for neglected and emerging viral diseases. A number of these infectious diseases have the potential for significant impact on public health and have been classified as priority biodefense-related pathogensOur scientific team is comprised of virologists, biologists, and medicinal chemists with extensive drug discovery and development experience. We are further supported by a host of highly experienced collaborators, consultants and through funding from the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease and the Department of Defense.Job requirements:

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related science with at least two (2) years of hands-on experience working in a scientific research laboratory.

Must be proficient with mammalian cell culture techniques in a BSL2 lab environment.

Work with BSL-2 viruses.

Perform cell-based assays in both 96 and 384 well plate formats.

Experience with mammalian cell culture and strong, sterile technique.

Able to work with small molecules (proper handling, calculating concentrations, making serial dilutions).

Perform biochemical and immunological assays (such as ELISA) as required.

Analyze data using GraphPad Prism and Excel software

Upload data to company database and share with team members in a timely fashion.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to maintain a lab notebook
