Responsibilities for this PositionGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an AWS Cloud Computing Specialist (Entry Level College Grad). This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Duties and Tasks:- Configures, administers and supports installation for configuration of cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and management applications to meet the organizations requirements
- Assists and supports deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in the cloud
- Develops software automation and scripts to orchestrate cloud and virtualization technologies
- Views and analyzes summary data on cloud resource deployment
- Monitors requests and key metrics for cloud resources, as well as the performance of systems in the cloud
- Troubleshoots issues and plans for future cloud capacity requirements
- Assists and supports in the identification, management and resolution of cloud computing security risks and implements best practices as applied within a cloud environment
- Provides technical support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions and APIs
- Identifies and documents product bugs and feature requests to implement effective solutions with internal support teams, external providers as well as customers
- Supports evaluation of new service offerings from Cloud Service Providers to determine potential usage by GDMS
- Applies knowledge effectively in team environment

- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of AWS.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies: Server, Storage, Networking
- Demonstrates Knowledge of computer programming languages as well as experience with: C, C, Perl, PHP, and Python
- Demonstrates knowledge of scripting languages and software automation skills
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrates knowledge of systems architecture
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of individuals
- Ability to work individually without supervision
- Problem solving skills and ability to learn and apply GDMS culture, policies and processes
