Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: filling prescriptions, distributing pharmaceuticals, and operating and maintaining automated pharmacy information systems in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate-level education in Pharmacology or a related field of study, from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. This position is scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) no later than 30 Sept 2021 in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, Public Law 114-328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e., authority, direction, and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA. This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You may be required as a condition of employment to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. May include other immunizations that may be required for this position/for a position you may fill as an emergency essential alternate. Failure to take immunizations may lead to your removal from position or separation from Federal service. Position is considered essential to support DAs mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) No qualified and immediate replacement exists; (2) having it vacant would/impair effective operation of essential military support system/adversely impact combat mission of deployed forces. Failure to remain in your position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service, (Ch 75 Title 5 USC; FPM Ch. 752).
