Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves piloting or copiloting rotary wing aircraft, ground and flight instruction, in flight evaluation, and flight testing of developmental and modified rotary wing aircraft and components. Experience performing staff work concerned with planning, analyzing, or administering agency aviation programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Basic Requirement for Helicopter Flight Instructor:Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates, and/or military rating, (Please include certifications in your application packet); meeting the applicable flight hour requirements; and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position. (Flight hours MUST be in the body of the resume). Flight hour requirements:Total flight time 1500 hours;Pilot in Command 250 hours;Night flying 75 hours;Last 12 months 100 hours (for current employees up to one-half of the flight hours in the last 12 months may be waived);Instrument 75 hours;Instructor 500 hours.
