Strong working knowledge and experience in Quantitative PCR and QPCR data preferred. Improving critical-care decisions can save lives and improve recovery. SC2i processes data from participating studies at world-class civilian and military research hospitals to create clinical decision-support tools that focus clinicians on the best choices for each patient. SC2i is focused on developing, translating, and validating biology driven critical care. This model of providing individualized treatment based on the underlying biology has the potential to dramatically improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. Biology driven care enables clinicians to reliably deliver the right treatment at the right time to ensure the best potential outcome at lower cost.This position will be primarily based at Emory Main Campus location in the Department of Surgery (SC2i) in the QPCR laboratory but will also be expected to be in a weekend on call rotation schedule with the Emory/Grady site through the (SC2i) biorepository lab at the Grady hospital main campus location. These duties are such as but not limited to performing technical essays, standardized and semi- routine biological, chemical, hematological, Immunological, Immunohemotological, microbiological and surgical test in the research and clinical laboratory. May perform test in one specific discipline or perform selected test in multiple disciplines.JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohemotological, microbiological, and serological tests in a research or clinical laboratory.

May perform tests in one scientific discipline or perform selected tests in multiple disciplines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science.

Certification or eligible for certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), or categorical, MT (HEW), MT (HHS), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), CHT (ABHI).

Letter of eligibility from agency must be confirmed prior to employment.

Certification must be obtained within 18 months of cumulative employment as a medical technologist in the state of Georgia.
