As an FEE on the team, you will delight customers with personalized experiences that have been tailored just for them. This role will allow you to design front environment for innovative and custom development tools that allow hundreds of teams across Amazon to innovate on behalf of our Retail customers. You will change how millions of shoppers interact online, on all device - from smartphones and desktops to Echos. To perfect the best possible Amazon shopping experience you will use your experiences and insights to streamline all aspects of software delivery. You will apply your expertise to build and serve the state-of-the-art framework; you will build distributed configuration management system and services with high concurrency, low latency and massive scalability and you will improve how next generation buying experience pages are rendered on customers' phones and computers. A day in the lifeWe are looking for talented front end engineers who are eager to shine by designing and developing world-class federated solutions. In this role you will design and build the user experiences on the technologies our customers interact with. You will work with Product and UX design to understand and create solutions for diverse user requirements (e.g., workflow, federation, intuitive experiences), user hardware constraints, and front-end security risks. You instrument software with real user metrics (e.g., taps/clicks, feature interaction, performance, fatal's) to provide data and protect the customer experience. You use your knowledge of the UX space to improve design and engineering processes and to build, create, and deliver the right experience for customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience with jQuery, Node.js, JavaScript build tools, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Ember, or Angular, along with the knowledge of when and how to use them
  • Experience building rich data-driven web applications by consuming RESTful services and APIs.
  • Understands front-end software best practices including client side performance optimization and how to mitigate information security risks.
  • Understands software engineering best practices (e.g. automated pipelines, Operational Excellence, Information Security) and sets front-end software and UX implementation standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with responsive and cross-browser user interfaces
  • Track record delivering large customer features and front-end solutions in complex or ambiguous problem areas.
  • Familiar emerging trends in desktop, web, and app development using AWS
  • Make the appropriate trade-offs to balance innovative UX with implementation complexity.
  • Evaluate the risks and benefits of using front-end libraries, frameworks, and tool-sets for a given problem space.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,700-194,400/yr. Our range of benefits may include health care, employee discounts, 401(k) savings plans, paid time off, and more.
