Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking multiple Senior Software Engineers based out of Tukwila, Washington. The Core Services team is responsible for architecting, developing, and integrating Mission Systems software services to facilitate creating an Operational Flight Program (OFP) we can use on multiple platforms. We want your help to design, implement, integrate, deliver, and promote our services to multiple programs and teams across Boeing.You will be joining a team of software engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise who are developing best practices and cutting-edge solutions to deliver the best value to our customers. A successful candidate will highlight their interest in and experience with and eagerness to learn mission systems software, scalable architectures, and true CI/CD for everything from embedded systems to data centers. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and will embrace continuous learning and improvement.As an integral member of the team, you will be architecting, developing, and integrating Mission Systems software for manned spaceflight transportation, missile defense systems, bombers and fighters, or any number of other critical programs. We are looking for someone who is systematic, open-minded, adaptable, team-oriented, and well-organized. Insight into DevSecOps processes with an eye toward process improvement and streamlining is a plus.Position Responsibilities: You will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:

  • Architecting and developing Mission Systems software services for various programs, both from a single-service point of view and from a larger Mission Systems multi-service perspective.
  • Working collaboratively with other engineering and system teams to move software through the whole software development process from service requirements through integration and deployment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in our develop, test, and production environments
  • Peer reviewing the work of other group members.
  • Working with geographically-dispersed interdisciplinary team of Engineering and Program Management professionals
  • Designing and developing quality solutions
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 4+ years of experience Mission Systems software
  • 4+ years of experience with either Go, Java, C/C, Rust, or Python
  • 2+ years of experience with Git or equivalent version control system
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience with Mission Systems architecture.
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
  • 2+ years of experience with automated test tools such as GoogleTest or Boost Test
  • Experience with orchestration and containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS) service development.
  • Experience with system modeling software such as Cameo.
  • Experience developing software requirements.
  • Experience with C11 and later features.
  • Experience with C build enablers such as CMake and the Conan package manager.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) clouds.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
