TITLE: SR. NETWORK ENGINEER Location: Chicago, IL A national financial organization is seeking an experienced Sr. Network Engineer to join their local team. The Sr. Network Engineer will be part of an established team focusing on keeping the company's network up and secure across the headquarters and branch offices. Ideal candidates will have advanced-level Cisco IOS and Azure Virtual Network experience and a fundamental understanding of how a Network works from a Cloud perspective and have a solid understanding of NSG (Network Security Group) and virtual Palo Alto (Firewall). Should also have good experience with firewalls, intrusion prevention, load balancers, etc. You will handle Level 3 day-to-day network issues and a variety of enterprise projects. Excellent communication skills are required. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, implement, maintain, and support the firm's networks and IT security systems.
  • Perform upgrades and configure networks to optimize performance, availability and resolve vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure detailed physical design of networks complies with firm standards and procedures.
  • Deploy small-medium office networks utilizing knowledge across various Cisco platforms (IOS, NXOS) to build out IDFs/MDFs with switch stacks.
  • Deploy wireless networks with 802.1x auth.
  • Establish Site-2-Site VPN across various vendors.
  • Create, manage, troubleshoot Azure networking: Vnets, NSG, Subnets, Route Tables.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate with other teams to resolve networking issues.
  • Regularly monitor data security and network access. Follow up to ensure appropriate resolution
  • and minimize potential for future incidents.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute network projects. Communicate project status and issues that may
  • impede project success to management.
  • Monitor availability and performance of networks. Resolve network technical issues.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure staff to plan and test disaster recovery and execution activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the network administration and IT security
  • monitoring to ensure maintenance activities and reporting are effective, efficient, and integrated.
  • Develop network documentation, including architecture plans, test cases, production
  • implementation plans, and maintenance reports. Monitor network logs for potential problems.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Monitor industry trends that may impact network administration and security.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related subject matter required
  • 5+ years of experience of Network Engineering required, preferably in a financial services environment
  • CCNP or equivalent
  • Advanced level Cisco IOS and Azure Virtual Network
  • Intermediate level AzureAD and Security Center
  • Experienced with firewalls, intrusion protection, load balancers, etc.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functions
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
