QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of an accredited school of Nursing.Must have current licensure with Georgia Board of Nursing.Current CPR training.Recent hospital experience in appropriate clinical nursing areaAdditional Responsibilities:DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms and documents accurate admission and ongoing assessment of patient reflective of physical status, pain level, and age and developmental needs as per unit policy.Initiates individualized age appropriate nursing care plan to include physiological, psychological and environmental factors; patient/family education, and discharge planning, with measurable expected outcomes; revises age appropriate care plan based on new data and patient condition.Accurately transcribes and effectively carries out physician orders in a timely manner according to CMC policy and procedure.Administers and documents medications and treatments in accordance with CMC policy and procedure.Administers IV fluids according to policy to assure accuracy of flow rate and volume administered, identifies infiltration/complications with appropriate interventions, and documents appropriately.Initiates measures to ensure appropriate pain management.Initiates measures to assure appropriate intake and output for patient's condition, age, and weight; documents intervention and results. Documents complete and accurate information in legible and timely manner.Assures that each patient has a documented age-appropriate plan of care with individualized, measurable goals and a discharge plan within eight (8) hours of admission. Reviews and updates age appropriate care plan per unit policy.Documents patient response to nursing/medical actions/interventions in nurse's notes.Documents age appropriate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.Refers patients to Social Services/Discharge Planning when appropriate; participates in discharge planning/patient care conferences.Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient and family in terms of diversity and preservation of autonomy, dignity and rights.Provides age appropriate patient teaching, including written educational materials, on an on-going basis, including family/significant others in the process when applicable.Involves appropriate ancillary services in age appropriate patient care.Involves family/significant others in age appropriate self-care program to the maximum degree possible.Ensures that each patient/family/significant other receives and understands age appropriate written discharge information.Observes and respects the confidentiality of information regarding patients, physicians, employees and hospital.Makes rounds with physicians, collaborates on patient's age appropriate plan of care, and assists with procedures as indicated.Adjusts to and manages stressful situations caused by changes in patient acuity, patient mix and staffing - patient ratio.Demonstrates and projects a positive attitude in work environment and presents problem and grievances to appropriate individual.Demonstrates understanding and implementation of emergency protocols (code, disaster, fire, bomb threat, etc.)Assists in orienting new employees to the general hospital policies, procedures, and practices specific to the individual unit.Maintains current competency in adult medical surgical nursing.Attends at least 75 percent of staff meetings and reads minutes of those meetings missed.Reads and stays current on new policies/procedures, standards of care, and equipment.Performs daily unit duties as assigned (i.e., crash cart, defibrillator, glucometer, etc.).Participates in development of PI indicators.Implements changes in practice recommended from Performance Improvement.Complies with BSI principles while administering age appropriate nursing care to all patientsDisposes of sharps, soiled linen, and infectious waste according to policy.Follows hospital-wide and departmental safety policies.Demonstrates a commitment to service, organiz
