Location: Augusta, ME Description: Our client is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer who will solve complex distribution system problems.This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology, principles, and other viable approaches.
  • Senior project engineers prepare, coordinate, and monitor a project, from the initial conception to the schedule and final completion. They are involved with the planning and forecasting of budgets and timelines to assure that the project is accurately completed to schedule.
  • Utilizes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. e.g., voltage issues, area planning studies.
  • Proactively studies and reports on the status of all distribution system facilities.
  • Studies to include but not limited to, thermal loading, distribution automation, N-1 analysis, large scale customer load additions.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment for all staff ensuring all company policies are being followed
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to decipher unique technical and analytical problem.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate highly technical concepts.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
  • General knowledge of contract, commercial and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer requirements.
  • Engineering standards and specifications up to 345kV.
  • Knowledge of industry Codes, Standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Foundation Design.
  • Overhead transmission equipment, line, material, and service specifications.
  • Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Applus+. Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
Education and work experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college required.
  • Minimum of 5 years Electrical engineering or related field experience, including projects highly desired.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems quickly and independently.
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical design.
