Job Title: Engineering Technician (Battery Experience Preferred)

Education Requirements: 3+ years of relevant work experience with battery part assembly, testing or manufacturing. Associate Degree or BS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Any STEM major is desired, but not required.

Job Experience Requirements:

Prefers university laboratory and/or industrial experience assembling, testing, breaking down batteries, using of a Glove Box, and electrochemical testers. Will consider new graduates with strong academic performance and relevant internship experience. If you do not have any relevant experience, but you are willing to learn with passion, please apply.

Will be expected to:

Perform materials preparation, slurry mixing, casting, and cell assembly, Roll-to-Roll casting and coating experience would be a great plus.

The primary responsibility is to support scientists and engineers conducting research and development programs for battery engineering.

Understand and document lab-scale processing and work with the team to characterize materials and evaluate failure mechanisms, document the findings in reports.

Perform characterization of materials and cells using established SOPs.

Operate a variety of analytical instruments and laboratory equipment used for electrochemical cell characterization to generate information relevant to optical, physical, chemical, and structural properties: e.g. viscometer, rheometer, thermocouples, Karl-Fisher moisture analyzer, scales, and cell testing with ARBIN or MACOR cyclers,

Manage time effectively to deliver characterization results on time

Maintain instruments and laboratory equipment through regular reference sample checks, calibrations, and periodic preventative maintenance.

Have excellent verbal, communication, and organizational skills

Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database or spreadsheets; MiniTab experience a plus.

Observe all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment as required.

Maintain 5S: clean, safe, and organized working environments.
