- 5+ years of technical experience in engineering and supporting a large, complex server environment
- 5+ years of providing technical leadership and engineering assistance to experienced and junior server engineers and administrators
- Experience in designing, implementing and operating consumer facing server infrastructure in a highly virtualized and dynamic environment
- Proficient knowledge and technical skills in Linux, Dell / Lenovo hardware including hardware provisioning, hardware installs and upgrades, firmware and module patching and lifecycle planning
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of Redhat server virtualization, the open source ecosystem, resource management, capacity and failover planning to minimize unplanned disruptions to business applications
- Proficient knowledge of ITIL service management and disciplines to drive continuous improvement of service delivery
- Ability to demonstrate and deliver excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to drive rapid problem resolution individually and within the server team
- Good communications and interpersonal skills to drive process improvements within the DevOps team and across other technical partners
- Acts as an evangelist for automation, SDLC best practice and configuration management
- Stays abreast of new technologies
- Proficient understanding of AWS and Azure Cloud technologies
- Proficient in Bash, Perl and Python
- Writing infrastructure as code (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Docker, CloudFormation)
- Proficient understanding of Virtualization platforms, VMware and KVM
- Develops and maintains complex technical documentation and processes
- Monitors the processes during their entire lifecycle
- Supports existing systems and automates root cause analysis
- Implements and improves monitoring and alerting
- Follows development standards and effectively demonstrates technical solutions to other engineers in code reviews.
- Acts as a technical consultant to US and International engineering and support teams
- Provide technical guidance to our technical partners on AWS / Azure technologies
- Provide technical guidance to the team for all server-based technologies including hardware provisioning and management, of virtualization technologies and collaboration tools
- Work with the lead to develop standards and procedures that support current and future operational needs with a focus on continuous improvement and automation
- Assist with the planning and delivery of all major software upgrades, system maintenance activities, technical patching and hardware refresh initiatives
- Review technical requirements and solutions to ensure that all security requirements are addressed and are in line with corporate standards
- Participate in the on-call rotation schedule
