To qualify for employment consideration as an active duty enlisted Sailor in the Navy, you must be:

A U.S. citizen or have entered the country on a permanent residence visa or have an Alien Registration Green Card and have:

Established a bona fide residence

Established a home of record in the United States

A high school graduate, have earned a GED or have met other high school equivalency requirements

Between the ages of 17-39

In good physical condition and pass a full medical examination

Responsibilities:

As an enlisted Sailor, you have a world of career opportunities available to you, with responsibilities that range with your specialty. Before you begin your day-to-day responsibilities, you will need to first attend Recruit Training, also known as Boot Camp. In Recruit Training, you will receive the proper training to set you up for success in your Naval career and enhance your mental and physical capacity.

All active duty enlisted Sailors commit to full-time service for a minimum of four years.

Work Environment:

From Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam, San Diego to Italy and all the open waters in between, our operations are global in every sense of the word. Your work environment could look a heavily fortified military base on the shore, an active aircraft squadron onboard a surface ship or an underway submarine in the depths of the sea.

With more than 100 ports of call around the world and bases in multiple time zones stateside and abroad, you could have the opportunity to experience multiple work environments in your time as a Sailor. Your next office location could be anywhere from the sea to the stars.
