Machinist

Perform complex set-ups and machining operations on standard machine tools, using all accessory tools and equipment necessary for completion of assignment under minimum supervisionGeneral machine tools and equipment (maintains personal tool box, tools and measuring equipment necessary to adequately perform duties).DUTIES:

Set-up, maintains set-up, and fully operates all machine tools within tolerances and specifications as directed by supervisor or written documentation

Adapts standard tooling, mounts cutting tools, sets feeds and speeds, determines number of cuts required to obtain finish, and makes all necessary adjustment.

Works with all required materials.

Checks and measures work using measuring tools, including gage blocks, sine bars, and tool makers microscope

5.Works from engineering drawings, rough sketches, written specifications and oral instructions

Gives work direction to machine operations and machine specialist as required

Assist in machine set-up for machine operators and machine specialist as required

8.Performs heat-treating, finishing, grinding, honing, brazing, and mechanical assembly operations as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned
