Medical Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Under the direction of an LVN/RN and/or licensed medical

professional, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of

patient care activities to assist medical providers and support

the delivery of patient care in the medical office.

Education

Required:

Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or

proof of training under a licensed physician.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

For rural health clinics: must be bilingual in Spanish.

Department Specific Requirements

For SRCC: completion of a Medical Assistant training program

or CNA. Prefer 1-2 years of experience.

For KDMF: must have active Medical Assistant certification

(CCMA, RMA, NCMA, CMA, CMAC) within six months of

hire/transfer. Two years experience preferred.

Testing

For rural health clinics: Requires successful completion of

the Language Resource Assistant (LRA) test at a Clinical

level. LRA is a language assessment test that demonstrates

written and oral interpretation/translation technique

skills. Test will be administered if selected. For Specialty

Clinics: General level.
