Packaging Technician

Position Summary· Follow and understand plant's GMP policies· Follow and understand plant's PPE policies· Understands BOS program and completes as required· Follows all lock-out/tag-out safety procedures· Understands chemical MSDS and can follow chemical handling procedure· Understands and can calculate the Shift Indicator· Understands and can performs Risk Prediction· Able to complete all quality documentation for Pack 1 equipment· Understands and can follow procedure for pulling quality samples· Understands and can follow evaporated milk hold procedures· Understands and can follow filler room sanitation procedures· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for Depalletizers· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for Case Packers· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for can and case coders· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for CASI check weighers· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for conveyors· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for Hartness Robot· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for tray former· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for case wrappers· Can operate and conduct basic troubleshooting for pouch case taper· Understands and can complete CILs for Pack 1 equipment· Understands and can build pallet patterns· Has completed New Hire Orientation· Understands the CBN and how it links to their position· Participate in and complete Process Flow training· Understands work order system and can generate work orders· Understands KPI and how the employee can impact· Understand and can maintain plant housekeeping standardsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Level

Education - High School or Equivalent (i.e. GED)

Critical Reading - Be able to follow instructions, read and understand equipment manuals and procedures. Must be able to pass onboarding reading and comprehension test.

Math Basic - Must be able to pass onboarding math test.

Flexible work schedule - Able to work all required shifts

Physical Requirements - Standing continuously for at least 2 – 3 hours at one time. Frequent- Lifting, Rotating and Stooping with up to 5 Lbs. Occasional- Lifting, rotating, and stooping with up to 25 Lbs. Infrequent- Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.

Must have a good attendance record (prior 6 months)

No disciplinary action on file in past 1 year

Candidates must meet the following guidelines:

Must have a high school diploma/GED

In current role (temp/plant) minimum of 6 months

No disciplinary action on file in last 6 months

Must speak, read and write English

Good attendance history

Good performance history

Rotating shift flexibility
