City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an alliance of the nation’s leading cancer centers that develops and institutes standards of care for cancer treatment.Position Summary: The Project Manager, Clinical Informatics, will play a key role by driving and managing the programs and initiatives that comprise the clinical informatics agenda. Clinical Informatics focuses upon the interaction of people, processes and technology to support the delivery of exceptional patient care with speed, discipline, and consistency across the enterprise. We support and manage a suite of clinical information systems including the electronic health record, ancillary clinical systems, and tools that enable decision support, health information exchange and clinical knowledge management. The specific responsibilities of the Clinical Informatics Program Manager will include:

Interacting with executive stakeholders and clinicians to ensure proper representation, prioritization, and meeting of their functional requirements;

Coordinating the work of multidisciplinary teams; and

Managing projects in a matrix model. This position will work with distributed ITS project managers to ensure compliance to project requirements, use of standard tools, templates, processes, and methods for project delivery, as well as resultant metrics.

Key Responsibilities include:MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interacts with executive stakeholders, operational leaders, and clinicians to ensure accurate representation and prioritization of their functional requirements

Partners with operations and ITS project team members to ensure that project delivery aligns with strategic objectives and priorities

Drives individual project risk management and mitigation through governance processes and procedures

Monitors performance of project delivery to ensure alignment to the approved business case, design, and committed timeline

Ensures adherence to project schedules; aggressively monitors project budgets; and reallocates resources to avoid budget or schedule variances

Provides regular updates and reporting on project status across Clinical Informatics, clinical departments, ITS, and other leadership committee meetings

Provides financial metrics, value realization, and other strategic reports for executive leadership, clinical and operational stakeholders, and ITS teams

Collaborates with outside vendors to build effective relationships and collaborative team environments

Continually evaluates methods of undertaking and completing projects more efficiently

Outline project requirements and resources needed to comprehensively address all components needed for a successful implementation

Develop and maintain strong partnerships to enable open and timely communication to ensure effective project management

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Develop and maintain detailed project plan to include milestones, tasks, and target/actual dates of completion

Moderate knowledge of MS Project (or similar project planning tools)

Experience managing projects using agile methodologies

Experience managing projects with interdisciplinary teams in a matrix model

At least 1 year of experience managing individual and roll-up project budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies for IT and related projects
