Responsibilities include:
Greet customers, by smiling and making eye contact.
Maintain availability of and organizes carts/flatbeds, assists customers with transporting items, loads merchandise into customer vehicles
Provide customer service by acknowledging the customer, identifying customer needs, locating merchandise, resolving customer issues and concerns, while maintaining a safe shopping environment
Proactively approach customers, ask if they need assistance load purchases in their cars, offer to give or take shopping carts, gather carts from parking lot and corrals and bring them back to the vestibule
Build rapport while assisting customers by engaging them in pleasant conversation, offering a smile and assuring they are treated well during their experience
Assist Front End Team Members by bagging customer items when necessary to minimize customer wait time at check out and attending to maintenance issues if additional assistance is needed
Maintain the appearance and safety of the parking lot, ensuring shopping carts are not scattered about, garbage is picked up, snow is cleared and salt is laid out, as necessary
Keep shopping carts clean and dry, wiping them down in the snow or rain, and offering additional service during the inclement weather
Support, encourage, and respect co-workers
Comply with Sickles Market Policies and Work Rules, as well as, federal and state law
Maintain open lines of communication with Managers, Supervisors and coworkers to ensure the most efficient operations in the department
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong Customer Service skills and ability to interact with other people and participate actively in department and staff meetings
Strong teamwork and diversity awareness and ability to recognize and welcome differences among people and resolve conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner
Provide G.R.E.A.T. customer service
Ensure food & human safety
Effective communication skills and ability to read, write and comprehend English
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and other prime times of the business
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced work environment
Exposure to various food allergens throughout the store
Frequent motions such as standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting, and reaching
Lifting up to 50lbs. and pushing and pulling carts up to 100lbs.
Standing and walking for 4-6 hours at a time
