Food Processing Generalist - Full Time

Job Title: Food Processing Generalist Location: Hy-Vee Specialty Foods Warehouse (Bulk Processing Center) General Function:The employee’s responsibilities include: Packaging quality product in a safe and efficient manner.Working Relationships:Accountable and Reports to: Bulk Processing Supervisor.Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Follows bulk processing procedure while practicing HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.

Follows daily production list as provided.

Must be willing to work in all areas of bulk processing.

Required to assist in set up and clean up responsibilities.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Assist management with procedures to ensure quality product while seeking cost cutting ideas.

Needs to be able to work alongside other individuals on line as a team.

Assist other jobs as needed.

Education/Experience Required to Perform Job:High school education or equivalent. Previous Warehouse experience would be helpful.Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.

Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day.

Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed mostly in the production area which is dry climate controlled environment.

Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.

Works in environment where you may be exposed food allergens, such as but not limited to : milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, soy, wheat.

Ability to climb, bend, lift and work in areas of limited mobility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have the ability to use logical thinking or solve problems.Contacts:Has daily contact with employees and occasional contact with maintenance technicians, suppliers and/or vendors. Has occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
