A non-supervisory position with journeyman level responsibility for the performance of skilled manual labor, including the care and maintenanceof ballparks and other recreational facilities operated by the city; primary responsibility is forballpark maintenance during league play and tournaments. This position will mostly work in theevenings during league play and on weekends when there are scheduled tournaments.less thanbr>less thanbr>EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED:less thanbr>less thanbr>1) Weed eating and cutting grass in recreation areas and all ballfields; less thanbr>2) Irrigationand repair; less thanbr>3) Cleans restrooms in complex and recreational buildings;less thanbr>4) Repairs fences,gates, bleachers and general maintenance including assisting others as needed;less thanbr>5) Clean parks andrecreational areas and pick up trash;less thanbr>6) Mark fields to specifications of the leagues and tournaments; less thanbr>7) Drives a City vehicle from site to site in order to perform duties;less thanbr>8)Performs other duties as assigned by Recreation Supervisor and Director of Parks and Recreation.less thanbr>less thanbr>POSITIONS SUPERVISED:less thanbr>None.less thanbr>less thanbr>PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:less thanbr>Ability to sit, stand and drive a vehicle to and from various worksites. Employee will be exposedto seasonal temperatures while performing maintenance duties and be exposed to potentiallyhazardous mechanical and chemical hazards. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and 50 to 75 pounds occasionally. Ability to bend, stoop, walk, pushbrooms, sweep and dig. Ability to walk over uneven, sloped and uneven terrain. Work involves gettingdirty and wet, cutting grass and tree limbs. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumesand odors. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with the public. Ability to understand verbal and written communication.
