Performs all general maintenance and construction duties as required for the general installation, maintenance and repair of the city's water distribution and production system, including water mains, lines, service connections, wells, and storage tanks.less than/p>less thanh1>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:less than/h1>less thanul>less thanli>less thanp>Performs maintenance and repair work on a regularly scheduled basis without direct supervision.iless than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Assists other Public Works staff and departments in the planning and execution of their assignments, providing labor and/or technical assistance as required.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Completes routine water system maintenance assignments and activities, without direct supervision, including, but not limited to: water line repairs, water well and/or water pump maintenance and repairs, water line installation and repairs, fire hydrant and valve repair, and general maintenance of water distribution and production systems.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Maintains all equipment utilized in maintenance activities, including changing oil and other routine maintenance of appropriate equipment.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Assists and supports other City departments as to general maintenance projects, needs, and activities.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Perform in a supervisory role as teh designated lead of select jobs, as needed.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Required to participate in the "on-call" work schedule rotation.iless than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Performs other duties as assigned.iless than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Community Relations:less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>less thanp>Maintains desired working relationship with the Public Works Director and City Manager.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Works cooperatively with community groups.less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>less thanp>Provides support to al City department programs and/or activities as needed.less than/p>less than/li>less than/ul>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Actively participates in creating and providing desired service levels to the citizens of Kyle and non-citizens within the City of Kyle.less than/p>less than/li>less than/ul>less than/li>less than/ul>less thanp>iless than/p>less thanh1>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:less than/h1>less thanul>less thanli>less thanp>Working knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment of other maintenance functions preferred.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Ability to analyze problems and plan solution.iless than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Ability to maintain records on materials needed and used.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>General operational knowledge, experience, and/or familiarity with all Public Works machinery and equipment is preferred.less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>Written Communication - Able to read and interpret written information. Ability to read and interpret docuemnts such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
