QUALITY CONTROL - MARINE INDUSTRY
This is a full time position, duties include ensuring quality problems are immediately and timely identified and resolved to company standards. Systems evaluations of products and procedures and establish quality control processes to ensure uniformity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Inspect materials, products and work in progress for conformance to specifications
Adjust process or assembly equipment to meet standards
Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure proper assembly of parts
Assist in testing and monitoring activities
Mark items for acceptance or rejection, records results and inspection data, and compares findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of product
Visual inspection of product through all phases of production
Test and measure finished products, components, or assemblies for functionality, operation, accuracy, or assembly to verify adherence to functional specifications (i.e. electrical, fuel, plumbing and overall visual and systems checks)
Maintain all paperwork as it originates on the production floor concerning sign offs or concerns of co-workers pertaining to the finished product
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
The ability to document, communicate verbally and in writing is a must
Multi-tasking skills are essential
Ability to successfully communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
EQUIPMENT:
Various hand tools, air tools and electronic checking devices
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Non-Climate controlled warehouse
Flexible schedule is required
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor and Human Resources immediately
Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators etc.
Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire and physically wear a respirator where required
Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working hours on your feet, etc.
Must be able to understand all safety related document and work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
