Job Purpose

Journeyman and Apprentice Plumbers are vital part of our growing team at Rob Goodson Plumbing, Inc. As a vital part of our team, integrity and leadership will help them perform well. Communication and interpersonal skills are vital for accepting and delegating tasks; and conveying vital information quickly, effectively, and accurately.

Journeyman Plumbers will lead, teach, diagnose, and be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of the plumbing systems. The Journeyman Plumber will also be expected to diagnose and complete service work tasks.

Preferred Education & Experience:

High school diploma/GED

Successful completion of an appropriate, formal training program or apprenticeship

Licensed to practice as a Journeyman Plumber in the State of Idaho

Apprentice Plumbers will assist and be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of the plumbing systems. The Apprentice Plumber will also be expected to complete service work tasks.

Preferred Education & Experience:

High school diploma/GED

2 Years proven experience as an Apprentice Plumber or similar position is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

Plumbers should have their own basic hand tools, excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate efficiently; and have an aptitude for learning, teaching, mechanical skills, retaining knowledge about company processes and systems as well as the following abilities:

Problem-solving – use your knowledge of complex systems, experience, and deductive reasoning to identify the cause of a problem

Physical strength – physical strength and stamina to lift heavy items (75+lbs) when necessary

Dexterity – must be able to use and maneuver parts and tools easily and accurately, usually in tight spaces

Mechanical skills – this job requires the use of various tools to assemble or repair plumbing systems, so applicants need to have the mechanical skills to know which tool is right for the job, and how to use it properly

Communication skills – able to work well with other team members and listen to instructions, as well as talking to and explaining issues to customers, so strong communication skills are a must for this job

Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace

Use of safety equipment when necessary (goggles, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, etc.) and follow proper safety procedures.
