IP Litigation Associate

Haley Guiliano LLP (www.hglaw.com) is offering a unique opportunity to work with leading attorneys on high-stakes intellectual property litigation from the Reno/Tahoe area. We are seeking an experienced associate attorney to work on IP matters including patent, antitrust, trade secret, trademark, and copyright. This attorney will work directly with HG partners and will immediately receive as much responsibility as they can handle. A technical degree and patent bar are not required for this position, although familiarity with tech and the tech industry is a plus.

Our primary offices are in San Jose, New York City, and London, but this position provides an opportunity to live and work in the Reno/Tahoe area. Particularly during more intense portions of litigation, it would behoove you to be in person with other attorneys in our Reno “annex.” During other times the position can largely be remote.

Essential Functions:

Preparing pleadings, engaging in dispositive motion practice, and assisting with expert reports.

Drafting discovery motions, preparing and responding to discovery, supervising document production and review, meet and confers with opposing counsel, and preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.

Trial preparation including motions in limine, pretrial briefing, trial and witness prep, attendance at trial, and post-trial briefing.

Our Requirements:

At least 2 full years of commercial litigation experience.

Excellent academic record with law review, moot court, or journal experience as a bonus.

We are in court; a federal clerkship or externship will be helpful.

Genuinely interested in technology and the tech industry.
