Haley Guiliano LLP (www.hglaw.com) is offering a unique opportunity to work with leading attorneys on high-stakes intellectual property litigation from the Reno/Tahoe area. Haley Guiliano is a full-service intellectual property law firm with its primary offices in San Jose, New York City, and London, and seeks a talented and motivated paralegal to support its growing intellectual property litigation practice.
The position is in-person at least 3 days a week in Reno, Nevada.
Essential Functions:
Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation including discovery, motions, hearings, trial, and appeals
Assist attorneys with practice and office management, including general administrative duties supporting Reno-based attorneys
Oversee litigation calendar and monitor upcoming case deadlines and events to ensure accuracy
Maintain and organize case files
Compile, organize, and index exhibits for briefs
Prepare table of contents and table of authorities
Edit and finalize documents for court filings and service
File documents (electronic and physical) in federal and administrative venues such as with ECF, PTAB E2E, and ITC EDIS
Understand and manage special filing requirements, such as chambers copies and under seal filings
Monitor litigation inboxes and distribute incoming filings to case team
Create discovery, pleading, and trial binders
Coordinate transfer of ESI materials with third party vendor for processing and review
Coordinate logistical plans for depositions, hearings, and trial
Prepare subpoenas and coordinate service of process
Develop internal processes to streamline workflows
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification
2 years of commercial litigation experience – patent, trade secret, antitrust, trademark, and/or copyright preferred
Familiarity with civil litigation procedures including state and federal court rules, local rules, and standing orders
Knowledge of litigation software; experience with Clio a plus
Strong English written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently and accurately in fast-paced environment
Ability to be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks
A strong drive and willingness to own projects and see them to completion
A collegial spirit with a willingness to train and be trained and take direction from others
A practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Flexibility to work overtime
Pay and Benefits:
$55,000+, depending on experience
