Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for multiple core applications, with primary responsibility for iManage DMS and managing the Firm’s SQL environment.
  • Architect, configure, administer, maintain, upgrade, test, document and support the Firm’s core applications with primary responsibility for DMS technology, including but not limited to iManage Work Server 10, Filesite 9.3, Work 10 Web Client, Microsoft SQL Server, Security Policy Manager, Threat Manager, Email Management, IDOL Indexer, Prosperoware Milan solutions, as well as integration with 3rdparty applications.
  • Administer SQL database servers, databases and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance and root cause analysis for database and application-specific incidents. Perform common SQL database administrator (DBA) tasks to maintain a healthy high performance application and server environment.
  • Periodic review of all SQL database maintenance, backup and optimization plans. Recommend improvements to support use of database best practices, more efficient processing, and to support the Firm’s growth of business.
  • Research, design, implement and support new technologies.
  • Maintain best practices and analyze upgrades and feature improvements for core applications and related tools and provide analysis and recommendations accordingly.
  • Develop and document operational procedures and processes for maintenance and support.
  • Provide 3rdlevel support to the Help Desk to resolve user issues. Provide advanced level troubleshooting and direct user support for issues escalated by the Help Desk.
  • Troubleshoot engineering level bugs for problem management.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze logs and metrics around utilization and capacity.
  • Participate in Firm’s ISO270001 and 270017 annual audits and recertification process.
  • Participate in the firm's business continuity configuration, preparation and testing.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and current with technical knowledge that could effect, improve or benefit the IT department and firm, on an ongoing basis.
Skills, Experience, Education and Other Job Related Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience in a medium or large law firm setting.
  • Three or more years of hands-on iManage administration including experience with iManage Work 10 and IDOL. iManage vendor certification preferred.
  • Related experience with Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Database Administration, SQL Scripting, IIS, Powershell and various server based applications and tools.
  • General understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, network connectivity protocols, server storage, and cloud architecture.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced, deadline intensive environment.
  • Team player with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, peers, clients, Firm management all levels and outside parties as necessary.
  • Superior client service and interpersonal and problem solving skills needed to interact and work productively as part of the Information Technology team.
  • Available outside of normal business hours and weekends to provide urgent 3rdlevel support, and perform scheduled upgrades in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the firm. Expected to carry a mobile device.
