The Senior Storage Administrator supports the configuration and day-to-day operations of System storage platforms. The Senior Storage Administrator collaborates with a broad range of customers, partners, and key stakeholders in administrative and academic units to provide best in class storage services. This involves provisioning, monitoring, upgrading, and capacity planning for the storage environment, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations for stability, remediating system outages, and ensuring compliance with data security and policies. As a member of ITS, the Senior Storage Administrator demonstrates ITS values in action.Under direction, incumbent will function as a resource and expert in all data storage needs and complex architectures required by mission critical applications for the Health System. Incumbent will possess extensive knowledge and best practices for disk array local and remote replication and mirroring, NAS (Network Attached Storage), NAS Virtualization, SAN (Storage Area Network), Backup Methodologies and Technologies, complex disk array software and administration tools on various storage array subsystems and platforms.Position should have TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) or equivalent, UNIX (AIX), Windows and z/OS knowledge. Requiring complex data engineering, implementation, installation, tuning, debugging and Data Network design requirementsCore responsibilities:

Install and configure advanced Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN) and Automated Tape Library (ATL) systems of both software and hardware, while providing enterprise disk array resource management.

Install and configure enterprise backup systems and solutions over the NAS/SAN for all Systems (servers and network).

Applies advanced systems/infrastructure concepts to define, design and implement highly complex enterprise disk storage arrays (NAS and SAN) and architecture.

Deploy fiber channel switches and administration with thorough understanding of routing connectivity between the systems and the various enterprise disk storage array devices

Manage enterprise disk storage arrays for computing systems, providing redundant hardware supporting mission critical applications Manage data replication between multiple data centers to assure redundancy and disaster recovery for all critical business and clinical applications

Manage the disaster recovery data center disk storage arrays and fiber channel switches

Support and assist in use of HUR, Flash Copy and other utilities supporting access to enterprise disk storage arrays Connect all enterprise disk storage arrays, ATLs and servers participating in the SAN environment

Resolve highly complex issues while maintaining storage and backup hardware along with software including operating systems. Clean and certify fiber before installing into the environment

Contribute to annual budget and internal IT roadmap planning by having a wide knowledge of vendor products, roadmaps and industry trends to match emerging technologies to expected new technology and plan for its purchase and integration.

Manage vendor relationships to enable efficient and cost-effective purchase plans and decisions for necessary goods and services. Create and assist in the creation of documentation and departmental procedures.

Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise SAN, NAS and backups environment.

Apply best practice knowledge for business continuity, high availability design, and capacity planning. Monitor and integrate key storage and backup metrics with enterprise wide monitoring architecture.

Administrator and operate the storage environment (provisioning requests, space reclaims, SAN zoning, manage vendor cases, manage array code upgrades, change controls, etc.).

Develop and maintain reporting on storage utilization including historical trending and forecasting.

Design and implement disaster recovery solutions using Hitachi Data Systems HUR. Partake in DR testing scenarios as required by application teams.

Install and configure hardware and software pertaining to storage arrays and management suite.
