Simulate and analyze breeding pipelines to identify genomic selection workflows that maximize genetic gain and cost efficiencies under logistical constraints;

Collaborate with Technology Adoption and Pipeline Planning Leads to test and implement new breeding workflows;

Develop population structure models on genome-wide data to inform breeding strategies, prediction model training, deployment strategies, and marker platform development;

PerformGWASto identify large effect loci to incorporate into genomic prediction models to enhance prediction accuracy and support trait discovery in the breeding pipelines;

Elucidate key factors driving genomic prediction and selection accuracy;

Develop prescriptive approach to target traits, training set composition, data quantity and data quality for model training;

Develop modeling and selection methods that leverage haplotypes to enhance genomic prediction and selection.

WHO YOU AREYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:

Master of Science degree with at least eight years of experience in Quantitative Genetics, Statistics, Genomics or equivalent or Ph.D. with at least four years of experience;

Understanding of plant breeding concepts;

Expertise with statistical models and applications to genetics and plant breeding (e.g. mixed models,BLUP, GWAS, GWS);

Experience in cloud computing, Linux computing and scripting(R/Python);

Ability to derive practical business insights from statistical analysesand simulations;

Ability to communicate results from complex analysis with clarity to expert and non-expert audiences to drive adoption;

Ability to work in a highly collaborative and effective at building partnerships with colleagues across diverse geographies, cultures, and technical expertise.
