SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Education) is a federally funded grant program that teaches people how to eat healthy on a budget and be more physically active to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease. Fiscal Assistants for our program support the work of nutrition educators around the state. Join us to create a healthier Florida!Fiscal Assistants are responsible for processing all fiscal paperwork, including travel and expense reimbursement, purchasing, and accounts payable. Responsible for purchasing for all units/counties with the program, using both p-cards and purchase orders. Trains faculty and staff in completing forms and reports. Assists with troubleshooting time and labor for employees. Will be expected to identify and resolve issues related to these areas. Specific job duties include:Purchasing

In MyUFMarket, creates original purchase orders and processes assigned carts to order materials.

Purchases supplies and materials using p-cards.

Works with Purchasing to execute leases for space and equipment.

Communicates with counties to ensure requests have been filled.

Identifies and resolves issues related to purchasing.

Payables

Creates vouchers for payment to vendors.

Reconciles and vouchers p-card transactions.

Processes expense reimbursements and cash expense refunds for counties.

Identifies and resolves issues related to payables.

Travel

Prepares travel authorization requests.

Processes expense reports.

Makes travel arrangements for airlines, hotels, and rental cars.

Identifies and resolves issues related to travel.

Audit Readiness

Ensures that appropriate backup documentation exists for every transaction processed.

Files electronic backup documentation in appropriate locations, using specified naming conventions.

Other Duties

Manages time and labor exceptions and approves outstanding time.

Process leaves of absence and FMLA paperwork

Performs various duties, including filing, typing, faxing, preparing mailings, etc.

Provides backup support for personnel processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Much of the work will be conducted using electronic interfaces and telephone. This is a time-limited, grant-funded position.This position is housed at University of Florida's East Campus (Waldo Road). Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.Preferred Qualifications:Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to write and communicate effectively; excellent organizational skills; intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel; intermediate to advanced skills with PeopleSoft; ability to recognize and solve problems.
