Job Description
This position is responsible for the procurement of raw materials and finished goods (domestic and foreign) necessary to support production and sales. This position is a part of the team that improves purchasing, production, and shipping processes. Working directly with the shipping and receiving team as well as wholesale managers.
Responsibilities-
Buyer
Maintain supplier relationships and partners for goods and services
Accurate and timely procurement of identified goods and services along with preparation of purchase orders
Works closely with suppliers and internal customers to ensure quality products are procured and received
Works closely with sales and reviews historical trends to ensure appropriate inventory levels
Formulates policies and procedures around inventory management
Accurately predicts retail trends around seasonal/holiday buying patterns
Planner
Solid project management and cross-functional team leadership
Monitor progress to ensure schedule requirements are met
Team-oriented and strong problem-solving skills
Recommends and implements production methods and operating procedures
Results-oriented and self-motivated to drive the team to achieve company and individual goals
Requirements-
5+ years of purchasing/procurement/material handling experience
Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience preferred
MS Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.) Including basic formulas and charts
Working knowledge of production, warehouse, and procurement processes used in manufacturing
Ability to work in a dynamic environment as daily functions and tasks will be constantly evolving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and leadership skills
Good analytical/critical thinking
Reliable and trustworthy
This job is a trial period of 40 hours a week for 90 days. Upon completion of the trial period position will be reviewed for permanent status.
Compensation: Starting Salary - $60k - $85k
