Loss Prevention Officer Skills

To be effective at this job, Loss Prevention Officer applicants should be detail-oriented team players with strong leadership and decision-making skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as Loss Prevention Officers will be expected to fill out reports, question shoplifters, and speak with police. They should be in good physical condition, as this position requires a lot of walking and standing. In addition to these general skills, a Loss Prevention Officer will be expected to possess the following skills.

· Working surveillance camera controls

· Using observational skills to watch for shoplifters

· Recognizing unsafe working environments

· Understanding safety processes and procedures

· Ability to respond well to emergency situations

No experience is necessary, and we are willing to train the right person for the job. Applicants must be able to pass an FBI background check, and will be fingerprinted. Applicant must also be able to pass the state of Wisconsin Private Detective exam in order to obtain a license required by the State of Wisconsin. License and fingerprinting is paid for by the company. Starting pay is $15 an hour with all federal holidays off work, and paid on-the-job training. This is a company willing to work with additional jobs or schooling. Applicants are needed for full and part time hours.
