Boxer Rescue Seeks Boxer Lovers to Work at Kennel (Hewitt)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you have experience as a dog kennel technician? Or have you volunteered at a shelter and have a passion to help rescue dogs? If so, we have the perfect job for you!

Austin Boxer Rescue is seeking a kennel staff member to join our team at our Hewitt kennel location. As a kennel staff member, you will provide care for our animals including walking, cleaning kennels, bathing dogs, etc. The ideal candidate loves boxers, has a positive attitude, and will be willing to work with other staff members and volunteers.

Animals must be cared for daily, therefore hours can be irregular and you must be available to work weekends and holidays in order to be employed at our facility.

Key responsibilities include:

Cleaning kennels

Feeding dogs

Scooping poop from ISO, indoor, and outdoor kennels

Cleaning main building weekly

Caring for dogs (bathe, trim nails, etc)

Laundry

Acquiring and organizing donations

Dispensing medications

Evaluating dogs

Skills/Qualifications:

Must enjoy working with animals, under no circumstances will abusive behavior towards any dog be tolerated. This includes yelling, intimidating, and/or striking a dog.

Able to lift large bags of dog food and boxes

Physically able to handle large animals (up to 100 lbs)

Must be punctual, reliable, and responsible - our dogs will be depending on you!

Pay is $8/hr and the following shifts are needed 8-10 am (7 days per week) and some afternoon shifts 4-6 pm. Working Saturday mornings is mandatory.
