Position Summary The Food Service Worker II may work anywhere on property where food is prepared. This person may assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables. The FSW II may be responsible for handling cash and credit transactions from customers. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but City of Hope may identify other responsibilities of the position Key Responsibilities include: Responsible for the setup and assembly of meals from tray-line and/or kitchen:

Reads production orders on color-coded menu cards on trays to determine items to place on tray, and places items, such as eating utensils, napkins and condiments on trays.

Apportions and places food servings on plates and trays according to diet list on menu card.

Examines filled tray for completeness and places it on cart, dumbwaiter or conveyor belt.

May set up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils:

Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables (sometimes using a conveyor food-belt) and break down stations at the end of meal periods.

Brew coffee and tea.

May set up and stock the beverage area, grab and go items, service ware and condiments o rother assigned areas. May be required to restock other beverage areas.

May be required to prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area). May operate a cash register (or equivalent), receive payments of cash, checks and charges from customers or employees for goods or services, and make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers.

Responsible for accurate ring of proper PLU for sale items and/or accurate barcode scan.

Maintains proper security of cash at all times.

Understands and follows City of Hope cash-handling policies and procedures.

May assist in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate peripheral equipment that records and supports non-cash transactions.

May interact with customers in the serving, retail and dining areas, assisting customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested. Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.

May be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment. May wash dishes and clean work area, tables, cabinets and ovens. Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.QualificationsRequired education experience and skills:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.
