JOB SUMMARYThe Body Technician increases the efficiency of the store by ensuring they follow a systematic approach to all repairs. He/she must be highly organized and must keep excellent documentation, in order to minimize losses. He/she must be able to read and understand the estimate to ensure that they have all the parts to properly repair vehicles to OEM standards. Participate in daily production/release meetings in order to provide key information to managerial staff.Body Technicians repair accident-related damage to vehicles, restoring them to pre-collision condition in accordance with industry standards and factory specifications. Must be able to perform quality repairs in a timely matter, always keeping the customer’s satisfaction in mind. ACCOUNTABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY OF POSITION Receiving Vehicle / Validation of Parts When vehicle is assigned (either parts co coordinator or technician) positions in the appropriate preparation stall or staging area, review the work order line items and parts to be repairedCheck that the dash panel has no warning lights on. Identify any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist/or related on the supplemental damage sheetDocuments supplement sheet and notifies parts / production coordinator all items that are additional damage not on the initial appraisal and that impact the vehicle progressing aheadSign off on the QA checklist, move vehicle and necessary parts to next production area, notify paint technician assigned to that vehicleClean and sweep production stall, re inventory as needed. Position your next vehicle in the appropriate stall and restart process Communication with Production and Management Staff Each morning at 8 AM a production meeting will be performed to update vehicle status for the dayDaily at 12 PM one-on-one discussions will happen with production coordinator on all the vehicles you are assigned to, this provides an opportunity to update additional damages or parts needed that were overlooked on the original appraisal Materials and Safety Management Maintain a safe and clean environment in which to work that reflects the working conditions of the companyAdopt working habits that are in accordance with the Company Employee Policy/Safety Manual EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS Functional/Technical Knowledge: I-Car Platinum (preferred)Ability to use frame machine.Certification in body repair preferred.Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.I-CAR welding certified.Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.Ability to supervise repair personnel.Must be able to pass thorough background check.Skills & Abilities RequiredWork independently without close supervisionWorks well with others & positive work ethicFlexible/adaptable to constant changeHighly organized; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignmentsAbility to prioritize, organize and plan work under own initiativeStrong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening)Motivated and follows instructionsWorks well under pressure OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Physical RequirementsGeneral physical skills (carrying, lifting – 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching)Driving, must have a valid licenseOn-the-job exposure to the following elementsFumes Dirt Chemicals/Toxins Hazards Heat/Cold Noise Duties subject to change Please apply online at: https://carstar-us-15426.apply-now.us/job/187006/auto-collision-repair-technician-auto-body-repair?s=cl
