Plan daily route based on pick-ups assigned.

Secure and safe handling of all donated goods and materials.

Instruct and supervise truck helper, keeping in mind that helper is in a rehabilitation program and that good personal and professional work habits are taught by example, as well as by instruction.

Responsible for the safety and security of the truck, tractor and equipment, including securing the hand-truck at the end of the day. Complete Truck or Tractor Inspection Report daily and report maintenance and safety conditions.

CDL A Drivers are primarily responsible for safely driving commercial vehicles and require compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service.

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards

Must be able to secure loads Load and transport trash compactor container and Donation Trailers

Ability to secure or re-secure cargo by blocking, bracing, using dunnage and other methods

Experience operating forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, to move, load, arrange, rearrange and unload freight

Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by the Transportation Supervisor, the Center Administrator or their designated representatives.

RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: Must be High School graduate or equivalent. Must meet State of Department of Motor Vehicles licensing requirements for the operation of trucks of the type used by this Center. Valid Class A CDL 1+ years of verifiable CDL A truck driving experience Must have a clean driving record and be able to complete a background check, drug test, and physical Must pass driving test and driver safety video series. Be able to communicate effectively. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidaysPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts. Ability to operate a wireless phone or radio. Ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to lift up to 100lbs Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks Ability in backing and maneuvering tractor-trailers safely into tight areas Experience with hooking/unhooking trailers from tractor itself and the pushing, pulling, placing, lifting and attaching or detaching of various types of converter gear when necessary
