Telephone Betting Operator (New Haven)

SUMMARY Deals with account holders in an efficient, courteous and professional manner, while placing wagers into computerized wagering system via telephone.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Verify account number by the account holder’s password.

Provide any requested racing information to account holders including track conditions, scratches, jockey changes as well as any other racing information. Any other inquiries should be directed to the customer service department.

Accurately places wagers into the computerized wagering system.

Verifies wagers placed into computerized wagering system by reading each wager back to account holder from operator’s terminal screen.

Any other duties assigned by management or management designate.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good customer relations; previous phone experience helpful.
