We're actively looking for Greenhouse Specialists to help us provide plant care for our 2022 season! APPLY HERE THE BASICS= There is two sides to the business here at Tagawas, our young plant side and our retail ready side. The young plants portion is about 60% of Tagawa's business. We grow seeds for other businesses and ship them out to them so they can continue the process of growing and selling them. For our retail ready side we work with stores like Costco and Home Depot all across the Colorado region where we sell our product directly in store. Irrigator reports directly to our Productions Manager at our Brighton, Co facility. This position requires the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment handling a high volume of perishable product. An ideal candidate has an eye for detail, and works both independently and as a team to optimize production. Previous experience in greenhouse or equivalent education is not required but reflected in pay. Specific hours can fluctuate based on an individual department and season, and thus schedule is based on the scheduling and needs of the business.Click here to view the full Job Description & Apply!JOB FUNCTIONSGreenhouse General Specialists are a type of General Greenhouse Worker working within the Brighton facilities. General Specialists work with our various teams throughout the greenhouse to ensure the production of highest quality plants for our customers.

General Specialists are General Greenhouse Workers who have at least 6 months of experience working within our specific greenhouse processes or an equivalent combination of education or experience. General Specialists usually specialize in one department within the greenhouse or are cross-trained in many areas within the greenhouse. Because of this prior experience, as a General Specialist, you may assist with training new employees and help by taking the lead while working on various projects assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.

General Specialists are also responsible for knowing the metrics and rate of work for themselves and their teams. General Specialists will be required to take, monitor, and communicate rates to their Operations Supervisor. An ideal candidate is able to assist other workers in improving or maintaining their rates of work.Greenhouse Specialist may also need to work with heavy machinery. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must be 17 years of age and eligible to work in the United States. Applicants must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent industry experience or training. Additional experience, specifically those with college degrees related to the horticulture industry, may be reflected in wage or compensation. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Additionally, Assistant Grower will be asked to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to understand written and spoken English and communicate in a respectful manner when speaking to clients, customers, managers, and coworkers. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 25-50lbs and frequently push and pull racks on wheels of up to 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodationMust be able to perform tasks involving stooping, walking, bending, and standing for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation Some positions require applicants to pass a Federal & state background check Must be able to work in all greenhouse/garden center conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and hot/cold temperatures.
