Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.In this environment of rapid growth, PayPal seeks a Business Development Talent who will be part of our Global Business Development organization, focusing on the Americas and collaborate with our front, corporate strategy, corporate development, solutions and execution teams to define, originate and negotiate large, complex deals with external partners driven by PayPal’s global business development mandate.The Global Business Development team works under an Agile model to ensure we assemble the best teams for each specific opportunity, with the right combination of front resources, solutions development and business execution to bring the best of PayPal to every large partnership opportunity. In addition to deal-specific scrum teams, we draw from the resources of the group to bring domain expertise on our defined disciplines of Financial Opportunity and Social Innovation; International Growth; New Verticals/New Commerce; and Disruptive Technology.This role will be critical in leading PayPal GBD’s efforts to establish large scale partnerships with global companies headquartered in the Americas and opportunities originated as part of our corporate strategy/ corporate development priorities and consistent with our “white space” business development mandate. This role will be part of the Americas Team within the GBD Group and report to the Senior Director, Global Business Development, Americas.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and execute business development priorities for Americas, with focus on opportunities aligned with the mandate to explore new “white spaces” with large scale/potential, with input from GBD’s leadership and key PayPal stakeholders

Align with the internal teams using the Agile methodology to secure resources for the engagements

Lead the negotiation with external partners, engaging GBD Execution colleagues to ensure successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.

Contribute as a key member of GBD’s Americas team, provide thought leadership into discovering new opportunities

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Deep business development, negotiation, legal and/or regulatory experience, especially in fintech or payments in the Americas.

Demonstrated business and product knowledge inside the payments ecosystem. Data-driven decision making and customer/ partner centricity

Knowledge and ability to handle external stakeholders. Accountability and orientation to results.

Demonstrated success negotiating and delivering high-impact partnerships that achieve measurable results

Demonstrates accountability, attention to detail and ability to handle complex situations with multiple workstreams and internal/external stakeholders.

Excellent ability to deliver results in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers
